Tulum is a beautiful destination that has been gaining popularity in recent years, and with good reason. The town offers a unique blend of natural beauty, history, and culture that is sure to leave you spellbound. However, with popularity comes increased prices, and Tulum is no exception.

If you’re traveling on a tight budget, staying in Tulum Pueblo might be your best bet. Here, you can find a range of affordable accommodations and dining options that will help you make the most of your trip without breaking the bank. However, if you’re looking to relax and fully immerse yourself in the beauty of the Caribbean, it’s worth splurging a little to stay in one of the beachfront hotels.

Tulum Pueblo has everything you need for your travels, including shops, restaurants, and language schools. You can also find all the essential services, such as banks and pharmacies. However, we don’t recommend walking to the ruins from the town, as it’s quite a long and dusty trek. Instead, consider taking a taxi or renting a bike to explore the area.

The beach zone of Tulum is divided into two areas, the north side, and the south side, both packed with stunning hotels, restaurants, and beach clubs. The north side is quieter and closer to the ruins, while the south side has more options for accommodations and dining. If you’re not staying at one of the hotels, access to the beach can be a little tricky, but it’s worth exploring to find the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the Caribbean sun.

Whether you’re into scuba diving, exploring ancient ruins, or simply lounging on the beach, Tulum has something for everyone. So why not come and discover this little slice of paradise for yourself?

Tulum offers a range of neighborhoods and areas to stay in, each with their own unique features and attractions. Whether you are looking for luxury condominiums, quiet residential neighborhoods, or affordable accommodations, Tulum has something to offer.

Aldea Zama, located between the town and the beach, is a gated neighborhood filled with luxury condos and its own shopping and dining area. It is a great option for those looking for a large vacation rental or a quieter hotel room.

La Veleta, located on the far side of Tulum, is a neighborhood in development with modern apartment buildings and hotels already established, but more still under construction. While it may be a little rough around the edges with road conditions, it is evolving quickly. Holistika, south of La Veleta, is famous for its exceptional organic market, Gypsea Market, and is an affordable place to live when it’s not high season.

Centro is the heart of daily life in Tulum, where you’ll find the best local restaurants, bookstore cafes, and souvenir shops. Accommodation options here include hotels and hostels, making it a more affordable option compared to the beach zone. You’re also more likely to find better prices on tours, bicycles, and moped rentals.

Lastly, Villas is a small residential neighborhood that may pop up if you’re looking for a vacation rental. While it has few restaurants and no hotels, it is located in a convenient spot just behind the main intersection where the main highway meets the road to the beach. The quiet streets are filled with larger-than-life murals, making it an interesting place to explore.
