Tulum Beaches

Tulum beach is a stunning stretch of coastline that can be divided into two categories: South and North Beaches. While both are equally beautiful, they offer different vibes that cater to different preferences.

If you’re looking for a lively atmosphere filled with beach clubs, bars, and luxury hotels, then the South Beaches are the perfect choice for you. Despite being more crowded, these beaches offer a vibrant atmosphere that’s perfect for those who love to party and enjoy the finer things in life.

However, if you prefer a quieter and more serene atmosphere, then the North Beaches are the way to go. These beaches are closer to the ruins and are less developed, offering a more tranquil experience with fewer restaurants and hotels.

One of the most popular beaches in the North is Playa Paraiso, which has been ranked by TripAdvisor as one of the best beaches in Mexico. Here, you can enjoy breathtaking views while indulging in delicious food at the reasonably priced beach clubs.

There are several public beaches in Tulum where you can enjoy the beautiful Caribbean sea. Some of the popular public beaches include:

  1. Playa Paraiso: One of the most popular public beaches in Tulum, Playa Paraiso is a long stretch of white sand and turquoise water. It can get quite crowded during peak season, but the beauty of the beach is definitely worth it.
  2. Playa Santa Fe: Located in the Tulum hotel zone, Playa Santa Fe is a quiet and secluded public beach. It’s a great spot for relaxing and taking in the stunning views.
  3. Playa Ruinas: This public beach is located right next to the Tulum ruins and offers stunning views of the ancient Mayan city. It’s a great spot for swimming and snorkeling.
  4. Playa Pescadores: This public beach is located in the heart of Tulum town and is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike. It’s a great spot for swimming and enjoying the local vibe.

It’s important to note that even though these beaches are public, some areas may still be owned by hotels and require payment of a small fee to access.

On the other hand, the South Beaches are where you’ll find the most vibrant and trendy atmosphere. While they may be more crowded, the numerous beach clubs and luxury hotels provide access to all kinds of entertainment and indulgence. Additionally, the jungle side offers unique stores and restaurants that are definitely worth exploring.
